I have a small leak that has turned into a large leak on my 1965. It appears to be coming from the front of the differential. Looking at some drawings it might be in the area of the pinion seal. My question ... can this seal be replaced without pulling the differential? I have limited skill and tools and do not want to pull the differential. Thanks again !! ...Ed

Re: C2 Differential
Yes it can, but it's a chore as working clearance is limited.
DO NOT EVEN THINK ABOUT IT UNLESS YOU HAVE A 1963 CORVETTE SHOP MANUAL AND THORUOUGHLY READ AND UNDERSTAND THE PROCEDURE!!! Pay particular attention to marking the clock position of the pinion nut so it can be reinstalled to the same location and sealing the pinion/companion flange splines.
In lieu of the large breaker bar and companion flange holding tool, a 1/2" pnuematic impact wrench can be used to remove and install the pinion nut, but a 3/4" impact would be even better.
Pinion seal leaks deteriorate the front mounting cushions, so they should be replaced along with a leaky pinion seal.
