C2 BB engine codes

Has anyone ever seen a BB engine block with an engine build code stamping and the vin derivative reversed in position.(outboard and inboard on the pad)

The car that I saw it on is a '66 BB and the engine code is on the inboard side instead of the outboard of the pad. Of course as a result the VIN derivative is stamped on outboard side.

Tonowanda anomolies can occur. have seen what i believed was a "real" bb pad wherein the machine assembly data was rotated 180 degrees. as with all suspected anomolies, i'm suspicious of restamping and spend more time on such a pad than i would on a "typical" stamping. mike
