Very nice. Funny thing though, some of the characters in there are skinny with a full head of dark colored hair.:D One or two of them are still involved.

I am still driving my '62 pictured on the bottom of the page. Thanks for sharing this history with us. I had forgotten that was in the magazine.

                    Re: No!

No! They went shortly after the St. Louis Meet. That was my first meet. Been hooked ever since.

Re: Fun Early NCRS Article in Vette Vues

I was at that meet with my father, I was 12 years old and in the 5th grade at the time. I can still remember the tour through the assembly plant and the car being stolen during the banquet on Saturday night. Bought my first basket case '64 Corvette convertible 6 years later in 1981. Restored to NCRS standards and have been enjoying it ever since.

                      Talk about being hooked!!!

                      Best Regards,

Re:Early NCRS / Where Are They Now?

                        Hi All,

If you were unsure if the Corvette Hobby is a lifetime endeavour- I think you have an answer now. The following folks mentioned in the article are all still NCRS members...

Article Author Bob Rosenthal- NCRS #97
                        Preston Dulaney- #20
                        Bill Mock- #93
                        George Campbell- #17
                        Tim Partridge- #77
                        Tom Essig- #2
John Waggoner- #107 I don't know what ever happened to him.
Don't know why Dr McCagh (#14) didn't go to St Louis- probably one of the few meets he ever missed...

For what it's worth- the NCRS member numbers assigned today were in the 42,600 range.

                        Best regards,
                        Eric

                          Eric,

My father Gene West from Harlan, IA. was and still is a member of NCRS. I think his number is within the first 1000 members.

                          Regards,

                          James West

Eric, he probably thought that he would have to fly to get there. Doc "Q" and airplanes are an like oil and water, they don't mix
