Hi everyone, I see some 2x4's with 2 side screws on the main body. Is this to aid in adjusting floats? Also did the 270 and the 245 horse dual quads have these? Is the main body without sight screws earlier than the other with screws? as always thanks scott 40610

Re: C-1 dual carburetors
If you're talking about the large adjusting screw in the carb baseplates, those are "air screws" that were for adjusting the idle air bypass circuit (which adjusted idle rpm) on the 1st-design 1956 2x4 WCFB's. A Service Letter was issued in late '56 to screw them in tight and convert the carbs to the 1957 idle mixture system by adding an idle speed adjusting screw on the throttle lever on the rear carburetor, cutting the center "X" out of four new carb gaskets and using two under each carb, and replacing the primary jets and metering rods.- Top
