    Holley Carb Numbers C2 65 L79

    I located the owner that I bought my vette off 24 years ago. He has the carb that he took off the car when he bought it. He gave me some numbers that were on the carb and air horn. I don't think it is the original carb. If someone could identify what this carb is by these numbers would be great.
    387861-EH List 3310 914
    On the air horn is 6R2762B
    Thanks Mike

    Mike, the carb he took off was an over-the-counter 3310 (750CFM) replacement - somebody else got the original 2818 (585CFM) ahead of him. The only production application where a 3310 was ever used was on a '65 Chevelle Z-16 396/425hp.

      Mike:

      The proper air horn numbers for your 350HP (L79) engine are as follows:

      3849804
      LIST 2818 - 1
      XYZ

      x=year (probably 5......less likely 4)
      y=month (1 thru 0, then A=Nov. B=Dec.)
      z= week of the month (1,2,3,4,5)

        John & Joe I figured by the numbers it wasn't correct. The numbers were different then the judging guide. I was hoping it was the original.
        Thanks Mike

          John could this carb have some great value since there were only 201 65 Z-16's?

            Jim -

            Not if "914" is the date code (4th week of January, 1969); have no idea what the "6R2762B" is - have never seen anything like that format stamped on a Holley choke air horn.

              "R" numbers

              6R2762B i would guess that is a engineering number as these "R" numbers are all over holley carb parts.you can convert engineering numbers to sales numbers by removing the "letters" and adding "10" or "100" prefix to the number so you have a total of 7 digits
