'64 turn signal question

Turn signal works OK left, but not right. Switch moves to right and detent is fine. Does this sound like a turn signal switch or a flasher unit problem? Thanks.

Gary,

Flashers have no brains, so they don't know their right from their left. If it works one direction it nearly 100% eliminates the flasher. If the green indicator comes on and does not flash, check and see if the parking lamp and rear tail light are on. Then check to see if your brake lamp comes on. If one is not on you have a problem with that lamp or the turn signal switch in the column.

With the trouble you described, 99% of time it's a bad bulb on the side that does not flash.

Run the check again with the parking lights on. You may see a difference if there is a ground problem at the socket

Same result with parking lights on - left works fine, lever moves to right detent, but no signal. No dash indicator either. Where can I get a steering wheel puller ? ;-)

you can make on from a piece of flat stock, borrow or rent from many parts houses, or try Harbor Freight by mail order or local store.
