As I already have an Edelbrock performer intake on the shelf Patrick I'm committed to donor heads.

I have a mechanic aquaintence who offered me a rebuildable complete 350 (minus throttle body intake) with vortec heads for $50.00, but the intake issue would still be staring me in the face.

Already sniffing down a lead on a good set of heads BUT, before I do anything, I want to see just what Mr. Machine Shop is seeing for a "crack" on my current heads.

-------There are many aftermarket heads that will fulfill your needs as well or better than the Vortec heads and will be useable with the intake you have. A little research with a good engine builder will turn up some good choices. Remember that big ports arent all they are cracked up to be on a street motor that rarely sees 5000rpm...........Bill S

An Edelbrock Performer intake is only a $100 option new, and they get near that on eBay. I sure wouldn't let that stop me if it woudl cost me $500 to re-do a set of heads. Better yet, if you haven't taken it out of the box, return it.
