    Michael-----

The GM #3899621 is a very common Chevrolet bellhousing for use with 14" flywheels. It was first used for the 1967 model year (big blocks only as far as Corvettes go) and last used for the 1981 model year. Virtually all Corvettes from 1969 through 1981 used this bellhousing with just a few minor exceptions.

The "TJZ" engine suffix code denotes a 1973 truck application with 175 hp 350 cid engine.

Never considered it would be used on a BB. I just found it in my book on a 67' L89 W/M21. All the resources I have is Mid-Yrs and not too much of them yet. Thanks.

It seems that the only running gear under the body that is 63'is the tranny and the frame... well, I haven't found the frame #'s yet??? Wonder why I would have the 63' trany and not the bell housing? And most likely a 66' diff?

Curious though, everything in and on the body is pure 63' original.

        Mike,

Just for reference, the "V" indicates the Flint, Michigan engine assembly plant. "0224" indicates that the engine was assembled on February 24. The code Joe deciphered fits nicely with the engine cast numbers you posted a few days ago.

I'm surprised you haven't found your frame VIN derivative. I don't know if your year is similar to 68, but mine was above the drivers side rear wheel location. Keep looking.

Thanks, But I do have alot of debris to clean, surface rust etc. I am encouraged that there is no rot. Smacking it with a hammer in the critical areas and it's all solid.

From the threads I've read here the past few days, I'll want to be careful how I clean it too. Like Leave the grinder on the shelf and get the naval jelly and some wire brushes. I guess the stamps can be pretty shallow.
