I am a little confused, from reading the restoration guide and other sources, what the correct paking brake handle should be for my car...Solid black with no chrome or Black with a chrome button and stripe???? My car was built on Nov 3, 66 and is number 2361.
Peter, your parking brake handle "probably" should be plain black w/o chrome since the early cars had none and your VIN is certainly low enough to qualify. The mid-later '67s came with chrome strip and button. I also think that the very late cars reverted back to no chrome like the early cars. Mine is a March 21st.car and it has chrome. I am however, very unsure as to the VIN breakpoints as this was a "running change". You might want to check your AIM for a possible breakpoint. I'm sure other members will weigh in on this.

The 4th Edition JG calls the breakpoint from black to chrome at VIN 6000+/-, and sez "Examples of both designs appear throughout the model year"; my June '67 car has the black version, and I know it to be original to the car, but I got dinged for it anyway.
John, If you got dinged for that, the judge didnt know what he was doing. It is absolutely true that they went back to black late in the year and early 68s. The hard part is finding a real one of any configuration. 175XX May1 had chrome.
The number on my 67 is 22049 and it has an all black parking brake handle (no chrome). Date on the engine pad is June 26th, delivery date was July 15, 1967 in Scranton, PA. Color Marina Blue. What's the number on yours John.

If you go through this thread, Don's correct. Sometime between May and June 67, they ran out of chrome buttons and reverted back to the the all black parking brake handle. After Vin 175XX and before 20401.
