How much carpet goes under the console of a 65 coupe, how much t******* will be necessary? With the forums help I have been able to do a top notch job on installation, but now starting finishing work. Any suggestions would be helpful..............

i've never had to trim carpet material in the vicinity of the console(al knock and jack holland's servings) just stuff excess up under the console. seem to recall about 1/2 to 1 " of carpet is excess and fits under console. good luck, mike -

-------You will have to trim off carpet where the brackets stick up for the console. Mike is right about extra, although I have seen sets of carpets with as much as two to three inchs of extra carpet. Thats too much. A fair amount of extra carpet will tend to cut down on the chance of rattles from vibration..........Bill SComment
