C2 Vent window regulator rebuilder

In past issues of the Driveline I have seen an ad for someone that rebuilds vent window regulators. There is no ad in my current Driveline. I think he was somewhere in Illinois. Anyone have contact info and know if he still does this?

Anyone else that rebuilds C2 vent window regulators? Thanks!

You can take the play out yourself by drilling out the two "peened over" areas that look like rivet heads that hold the back on, drilling them out, tapping them and installing 1/4" screws or bolts to secure the back in place. I did mine, it's easy (Volume Twenty-Four Number Two Fall 1997 Corvette Restorer)

You can purchase the repair kit (a gear machined from aircarft aluminum, a thrust washer and a couple of self tapping screws) for around $60 a side and do the job yourself if you are so inclined. This task is a piece of cake.

I don't recall the name of the outfit that sells the kit but they likely advertise in The Driveline. Maybe they are in California.

I no longer need this information. Found it in the archives. DUH! BTW, it costs less to have him rebuild than the kit you can get from America's Finest Corvettes.
