82 vette pasenger vanity mirror

The light in the passenger vanity mirror does not work. Fuse ok. unable to determine how to take apart the visor even with help of the AIM.
Does this mirror part separate from the visor part with a snap and can be pried apart with a screwdriver. Can see no screws etc. to take it apart.

The screws are USUALLY under the light lens on MOST visors. You have to GENTLY pry the lens out from the longer end with a small screwdriver or pick then you should be able to see the screws. (two on each side)?

Mike--Thanks for the response , I was able to remove the two lenses with a small screwdriver but there are no screws or anything that helps.I also tried prying the mirror up using a small screwdriver--It won't come up and I am afraid I am going to bread something. Any other ideas??

Gently pry the mirror away from the frame. It is held in by two pegs on the mirror and two hard plastic recepicles on the sun visor. This is a very commom probem with these mirrors the switch is probably bad and unfortunately you can't replace it.

Don, I had a similar problem with my 82 for 2 years and after repeatedly tapping the plastic post that activates the light, mine started to work. You've probably already done that, but just thought I'd mention it. See you in Florida! Chuck
