Thanks to all who posted. I think I've decided to go with one of the major transport companies, as recommended. I've made this trip many times in old Corvettes over the years but I think I would be pushing my luck now that these cars are 40 years old. Thanks Again,

--------My vote is Intercity. Reliable has quoted very high lately. As well, even though one of thier main locations is right here in Mi. the last time I called them to pick up a car only a half hour from thier terminal they told me they couldnt get to it for three weeks! Go figure. You also better be prepared for big fuel surcharges no matter which carrier you go with.

Hi Bill. I still haven't 100% decided on a transport company and in just the last few hours, I'm again considering driving the old girl down here instead. It's been sitting for a few years so I know I would have a little work to do when I get to Illinois but it would be fun to hit the road again with an old Corvette. It's a fueler with a 4.11 but the high RPM on the road never seemed to be a problem for a small block. Maybe I'll have better luck bringing this one down than I did with the 66. I got just south of Ocala, FL and lost a spindle bearing. The neighbors were impressed when the car arrived here on the back of a car hauler.
