I need a correct distributor for my 67 327/350 HP. The salvage yards in this area remove the engines from the cars when they receive them so they aren't a source. I have found one for sale. The seller says it has Delco Remy Patent Pending on it. It is stated to be for a 67. Is there any way to determine if this item is correct for my car?

Re: 67 Distributor question
If you check the assembly manual it should have the part number for the correct distributor. The distributors have a tag with the part number and the date on them. They are on ebay quite frequintly, if you check regularly under 67 corvette you should be able to find one.- Top

Re: 67 Distributor question
Randy,
The NCRS 1953-1967 Corvette Specification Guide - Volume 1, documents that the Delco-Remy ignition distributor for a 1967, 350 HP is 1111196. If your car has the K66 Transistor Ignition, the distributor is a 1111157.
Hope this is helpful. Good luck finding one.
Regards,
Gene- Top

Re: 67 Distributor question
The cast iron tach drive distributors are all the same except for weights, springs, vacuum advance cans, and the part number tag, all of which are readily available to build the combination you need. I wouldn't waste my time looking for an "original" correct part number distributor assembly, as few are left that are genuinely unmolested.- Top
