I believe the JG indicates the bracket was painted as part of the engine assembly, at least on smallblocks, and thus is engine orange consistant with the rest of the engine

This bracket is for a 427/400hp car. As the car has 58,778 orig miles, I can't believe that the black that is on there now is incorrect. It's showing some wear and rust areas on the underside, so I wanted to repaint it.

Re: 1967 correct wiper blades and alt bracket pain

Dennis - The answer on the 3871085 ANCO's for 1967 Corvettes and other GM '67 production year cars that used 15" windshield wiper (w/s/w) blade assemblies is NO!!!!! P/N 3871085, 15" ANCO w/s/w blade assembly, had a w/s/w holder with a shiny finish and would not be expected to be typical factory installation on a 1967 production vehicle. This w/s/w blade assembly, P/N 3871085, according to the several GM Parts and Accessories Catalogs was used on various 1965 production GM cars including Chevelles, Chev Pass, some Chevy IIs, Corvairs, Buicks, Olds, etc with 15" windshield w/s/w/ blade assemblies. According to the Chevrolet Parts and Accesories Cartalog, P/N 3888296 was used for '67 production year Corvettes and other 1967 GM cars with 15" w/s/ws including Chev pass. Both the 1967 ANCO as well as the 1967 TRICO w/s/w blade assembly holders have the dull or brushed finish. Hope this info helps and let the '67 Corvette eBay buyer beware. Pete

Thanks, Pete. You were even astute enough to know where I located the part. I was thinking about bidding, but....information is power! Thanks again.

His car is a BB not a 327. Not sure if they were done the same way. My BB is all black.
