Re: Intake Manifold Paint Clarification
re intake manifold paint clarification gary bishop keith here are some notes that i have gathered on the subject i would also like responces from others on these notes recently i have been asked when and where there is orange engine paint on aluminum intake manifolds after talking to some team leaders other knowledgeable members and looking at some bowtie corvettes i came to this opinion big block engines were built in tonawanda and at this plant they were not particular what got over sprayed and how much so there is engine orange all around the edge of the manifold in about inch or more it was not a good fitting mask small block engines were built at a facility where more care and time was taken and therefore you should usually only find a little engine orange at the front and rear of the manifold if some orange did get on the sides of the intake manifold it was painted out with aluminum paint gary bishop- Top
