    Coil Capacitor Polarity - '64 327/300

It appears that per the JG and the AIM, the capacitor on my coil has been incorrectly wired to the negative side of the coil for sure for the 17 years that I have owned the car. What impact should this have? The car runs fine. The coil wiring to the points, balance resistor and solenoid are correct.
    Best regards,
    Charlie

It's there as an EMI device to reduce radio interference from the ignition. You may or may not be able to tell a difference in radio reception with it correctly connected. With it conected to the coil negative side it essentially adds to the capacitance of the capacitor located in the distributor to contain point arcing and may effect point material transfer.
