It depends, according to M.F. Dobbins Vette Vues Fact Book of the '68 thru '72 Stingray on page 20, the spring clip on the 4V manifold is just about even with the centerline of the secondarys in the carb. On page 26 a 3-2V set up, it is under the manifold bolt that is just about event with the PCV valve grommet in the valve cover. That about covers it.
