As usual I get to things after the subject has been covered. I have just removed the tie rods and sleves from the relay rod in order to rebuld the relay rod end. Befor removed anything, I noted the location of LH and RH tie rod ends. The inside ends were RH and the outside LH went to the wheels. Both RH ends were marked with dabs of Yellow paint and were connected to the relay rod. My sleves had no grove near either end but has a radious on the LH thread end and is flat on the RH thread end. Every thing apears to be original by the amount of grease dirt and rust, but may not be. I have seen sleves/tie rod tubes with groves or no groves. Is there a date or year for the grove type? My 63 coup is an early one.
