Does any have a source to get posidrive screws? All of the places that sell the kits only have regular phillips screws and not posidrive.

Re: Posidrive Screw Source
Not trying to be a smart XXX, but it's pozidrive. Do a Google search. Hundreds of listings. Never understood the advantage of pozidrive over plain old phillips heads. Chuck1963 Corvette Conv. 327/360 NCRS Top Flight

Hi Donald. I've had a couple of Austin Mini Coopers. Sold the last one about 8 years ago. That's how I became familiar with pozidrive screws. Maybe some of our UK members can help. Chuck1963 Corvette Conv. 327/360 NCRS Top Flight

Re: Posidrive Screw Source
Just curious why you're looking for Pozidriv screws - they're identical to standard trim screws except for a very minor difference in the shape of the walls of the driver recess (less susceptible to driver cam-out when driven with power tools).- Top

Re: Posidrive Screw
They also have the four extra lines on the head to identify them.
I'm curious too -- about what year Corvette the screws are for. I know there were no Pozidrive screws used on Corvettes up to 1972. They appeared sometime after that.Terry- Top

Re: Posidrive Screw Source
I bought an assortment of chrome oval head phillips trim screws (#6,#8,#10) about eight years ago from J.C. Whitney, and some of them had Pozidriv heads. I had no specific need for them at the time, and used them on other project cars where head appearance wasn't an issue. Maybe McMaster-Carr has them.- Top

Re: Posidrive Screw Source
John,
I did prowl the McMaster-Carr web catalog, and to my surprise didn't find any listed. Not to say they don't have them, but a search yielded no results for pozi-drive, or variants on that name.
The suggestion by Bob of checking at body shop suppliers for a board showing screws available is a good idea. I used to be able to do that, but the supplier moved and along with that move the board and stash of genuine automotive body screws went away. A recent stop by their new store (I was not looking for pozi-drive screws, but another interior screw) proved distinctly unsuccessful. The counter person suggested a stop at the local home center. That did solve my immediate need, but no pozi-drive screws were at that Home Depot store. I have been looking in order to find a source, and I am having no more success than Donald. Seems strange to me that we would have to source them from our friends in the UK when they are so common on the later C3 Corvettes.Terry- Top

Re: Posidrive Screw Source
I'm going to walk the local Pick-a-Part (junk yard) this weekend and see what I can find there, wish me luck! I did find some pozidrive screws in Fastenal catalog, used here at work but they didn't have any oval head screws. Will quiz the local rep today.

Nice meeting you Terry this weekend.- Top
