    Identifying a block and heads

I just brought home a stray 62 fuelie with a wrong 350 motor next to it. I'm having trouble identifying what I have.

The block is a common 3970010---casting date is E244 stamped is V0528 TMD
    Truck motor?

The heads are (I believe) 3988997 (wish that they were 57 997 heads!!!!!)
Casting dates are F1872 and F1472.

The dates are easily deciphered, of course, but what were the original installations? PAss car, truck, etc?

    Thanks
    Mike Ernst

i'll bet its the 74 silverado bill c put a 62 vette body on. you can probably make a killing if you can find the owner of the 74 silverado cab and reunite him with his engine. good luck rev and regards. mike mc, still sleeping at the foot of the cross as you directed at the last confessional.

Mike, According to Hollander, the TMD is a 350 4BC 160hp out of a 1974 Chevy or GMC Truck, 20 & 30 series. FWIW, more than likely it is a 4 bolt main block, for that application. Dave
