    Teak Wheel

NCRS Experts: I have a 66 L-36 one owner car with the org standard wheel and would like to find/buy a teak wheel. Two questions:

    1) Does anyone know a web site url or phone # for FREEMANS DESIGN. I believe Eric represents this company who makes repro teak wheels and was at Carlisle.

    2) Can someone look at this ebay link and based on the pics can you tell me if this teak wheel is orginal and what value one should pay for a teak wheek in today's market.

    Thank-you.
    Cheers/Keith.

keith: doubt anyone in ncrs could look at ebay pics and tell you for certain the wheel is original or repo. repo's are extremely close, if not identical to the originals. i wouldn't pay more than 800 for an original or repo that was in excellent condition.my 2 cents worth. mike

I would just buy a repro. I heard the originals and good repros look the same. If it wasn't original on your car? Save your money. Terry

Eric Freeman lives in Charlotte, NC. Just looked up the phone number in the phone book: Freeman Designs - 704.510.2250

Eric does a fantastic job with the teak wheels. As stated, they are as originals

There is an Ontario Chapter Member that makes a really good Teak wheel at a resonable price. I think he lists in the Restorer. Either 905 or 519 area code.

I bought one of Eric's teak wheels at Carlisle and couldn't be happier. It compares very favorably with an original that I had on another car. I don't beleive that I'm smart enough to tell the difference. Great product!

                    Hello Keith,

I purchased a teak wheel from Freeman's about a year ago and I am happy with the purchase. Soon after the steering wheel arrived I noticed some scratches on the wheel, I am not sure if this happened in shipping or if I scratched it myself. Eric Freeman had me ship the wheel back to him and he fixed it for free. I have nothing but good things to say about him and the work that he does.

                          Actually it would be "had."

They were purchased en masse, and a group of us split them up. Got one heck of a deal. I still have a couple, but they're spoken for.
