I am searching for a good paint job for a 65 convertible in the SF Bay Area. I do not have any experience with paint jobs for corvettes and I do not know what issues the fiberglass body may present. What questions should I ask? How much should I expect to pay? Anyone know of a good place in the area? The body of the car is straight and I want to paint the car the same color that it is currently...rally red.

Re: Paint Job for 65 Convertible
A place to start for references is the local NCRS chapter. Attend some of the meetings/functions and talk with someone that has their car done and will share their experience with you. You can loose so much original stuff from your HP 65 Corvette while it is at a shop that thinks they know what they are doing. If you have the desire you can do a lot of disassembly for painting and keep the parts at home and not lose them. CA has different restrictions on paint. I don't think that lacquer paint is sold by jobbers.- Top
