C2:67 3810 Holley on Ebay-Restamped?

Looks okay to me.
It's just a service 3810 in a generic Holley box.
Holley still uses only one box for most of their new 4150/4160 carbs. It's got all kinds of crap printed on it in full color. It's hideous. I prefer the old red and black printing on white boxes. No, even better: the vintage blue ink on white Holley boxes. Understated and elegant. They had "Power, Economy, and Performance" printed on the side.
By the way, the 3810 was still available up until early this year. That date could mean 1980, 1990, or even 2000. In 1970 Holley was still using three-character date codes.- Top

The manual choke is troubling to me, as the change to a choke in holleyworld generally requires a suffix to be added to the list numberBill Clupper #618- Top

Re: Looks okay to me.
Jerry,
I understand the generic box, but what struck me funny was the manual choke on the box, and the roughness around the stamping on the air horn.
A 1967 3810 had a divorced style, or remote choke. Wouldn't a service replacement have the same choke as the original. Or maybe by "manual" do they mean a remote choke vs an electric choke. It's too bad there wasn't a picture of the other side.
I have a service replacement 3810 with a date code of 0869, which has the remote choke, and also has DA after the part number. The area of the stamping and around, is very smooth, and the numbers are very uniform. Maybe it's just the year of production. Mine has the hex fuel bowl bolts and the one in the picture seems to have the older slotted bolts.
Maybe we are doing the seller a favor in selling his carb.

Service changes
You're right about the change to hex head bowl bolts. That occurred in the eighties. So that makes this service date 1980 since this carb has bowl screws (assuming they're original).
This seller isn't calling this carb NOS. In fact, he clearly states it's used. He just happens to have THE old box. Or maybe it's just AN old 3810 box; who the heck knows. Anyway, I would put zero stock in Holley's "manual choke" box description. It could be their term during that period for a divorced mechanical, but automatic, choke design.
I don't think anybody would go to the trouble to re-stamp (and re-color) an old carb with a service date just to sell it used on eBay. They wouldn't print up a fake box either. I think this seller is offering a real 3810 service carburetor. Ask him for a photo of the passenger side, and for the numbers on the baseplate and primary metering block. That will probably settle this for all time. There is usually a manufacture date (month/year) printed somewhere on the box too.- Top
