    Distributor mounting 327 vs 350

Will the distributor off my 68 327 properly mate up with the internals and block in the 77 350 I'm rebuilding?

If it will, I plan to re-build it accordingly. If not I'll keep it in the 327.

    Thanks,

    Chuck

Yes, it'll bolt right in - no difference.

The distributor will fit the new engine fine. It's your car it's not compatible with. I believe your '77 used HEI ignition and electronic tach. If it did, you will have to rig your wiring for coil resistance in the ignition circuit and a lead to pick up the tach signal.

HEI's are cheap and work well.

The 350 is dropping into my 68 coupe John, I guess I should have been a little more accurate in my explanation.

Typical misleading Chuckster question. Sorry about that John.

John, Mike, potato potaato Sorry Dude!

I have a bare 69 tach drive housing that I was looking to totally rebuild, but after checking into the quantity and COST of rebuild components, I think I'll just freshen up my working 68 tach and call it good.

Thanks to you BOTH getting back to me so quickly.
