C1 - Avoiding Overinflated Seat Cushions

Any suggestions on how to meet the spec on the seat bottom "deep concave pocket" as stated in the 58-60 judging manual? Is this achieved by t******* the foam or tying down the springs or some other method? Any details would be appreciated.

Brad, I believe the center bottom section springs were compressed more and tied in smaller "bags" than the surrounding springs.

Brad; Dennis is correct, We are doing the 62's now and have all the correct parts from Al K. including the vedio. The 61-62 is not exactly covered in the video but for your year is step for step. Knoch is prety good with the verbal instructions but the visual is better. There are many items that go into making these seats look and feel right. The spring sets that they send are as Dennis said, concaved in the proper area. As you put them together with all the hog-rings and burlap padding the shape will form. Then the foam is spray glued to the concave area to prevent any bulge. The seat cover will tie to some very important wires that are placed on top of the spring set, which define the center of the seating area. I have done many seats before on later year corvettes and camaros but these are totaly different, much more like real upolstry or artwork. The vedio is crucial and very helpful; if this were a 69 camaro I would have been finished front and back by now! David

Thanks, David, for your excellent advice. I'll get Al Knoch's video
