Good Evening!
So, this concerns a friend's '61 fuelie, which was originally sold in Colorado (high altitude) & is now in NY (sea level). The car had a very cleanly installed third pair of tail lights, which I think we've all seen on various Corvettes, but I've always thought this to be a custom deal, by no means stock on a straight axle.
If a car is considered to be prepped for high altitude operation, would that have been done by the selling dealer or by the factory? The reason I ask is this: someone has mentioned the factory tweaked a handful of cars for hi - alt opp & marked them by adding a third pair of tail lights. I've heard of dealers tweaking fuel systems for hi - alt opp, & I've also heard of extra lighting added (i.e. Canadian opp), but this statement seems strange to me. So if anyone knows for sure, I'd be interested to hear it.
Thanks!
