Re: C1 - Horns
The latest 58-60 Judging manual (4th edition) lists the horns as follows:
"Left and right Delco Remy horns are solenoid type with a near triangular shaped bell. Right hand horn is low note; left hand is high note. Horns are painted gloss black and carry the following part number ID. RH "351"; LH "352". Horns are mounted with the bells facing forward, tipped down slightly. When viewed through the grill, only the bottom part of each bell is visible"
Rebuilding horns is a tricky business. If your horns sound muffled or if they won't make any sound at all when you test them, then there is a high probability that they need to be rebuilt. 40 years is long time and most horns have had internal moisture and rusted-through diaphrams or else the points will will have rusted together. You CAN rebuild them yourself....but it's tough to get a clear and correct sound. You have to "tune" them. Your simplest bet is to HAVE them rebuilt. Start with Hornworks at www.classiccarhorns.com
