    73 Front Bumpers

    Hi Ladies, (Juliet), and Gentlemen:

I will be purchasing a 73 front bumper very soon and have little experience with them, (rubber nose cars), in general. I was wondering if there is more than one manufacturer and if so who has the best quality or are they all so similar it doesn't matter. The owner wishes to retain the stock configuration.

As always my thanks in advance and a great weekend to all.

    Re: 73 Front Bumpers

    Jerry,

Assuming that you want to retain the original look and feel of the bumper, there are NO repo parts I know of that are even close. I tracked down an excellent used one for my '73 (it was almost on my doorstep) and paid dearly for it. NOS stuff (their claim) pops up now and then on eBay.

The repo parts are either rigid fiberglass, or some sort of semi-flexible material. Neither pass muster in my eyes.

      ACI

They had an interview with one of the fellows that works ay ACI in Vette Vues a few months ago. It would be to your benefit to find that magazine. It had a few pages on that subject. The way they were talking, it sounds like they do more r&d than anyone and genuinely care about what its going to look like in a few years down the road. the issue was Dec 2000 pages 121-126 well worth a look. Yet Another Favor

Thanks to Mike I checked E Bay. There are three all by the same seller. He claims they are all GM but only accepts MOs and CCs no buyer protection. If I could impose on the more rubber knowledgable, , would any of you be able to tell from the pictures if they are what the seller claims, Please and thank you all.
