See photo link below. My question is on these interior pinch welt caps along with the "U" channel that holds the cardboard quarter panel trim piece in place,(On door jam area) how should these be painted? Where should the interior color and body paint color end and start? Should these be paint all one color? (Body or interior color?) The interior is black and the body is blue. Should there be a 50/50 tape line down the center on these parts? One other thing, the plastic/metal trim parts around the windows, with a STD black interior, should this be painted "gross" black or a "semi-gloss"?
Thanks Ken
My 1966 Coupe has a 50/50 split line where the outside is exterior color and inside half is interior color. The interior is unpolished so appears a bit like semi gloss - with a tad more gloss - hope that makes sense to you. Also - if you really want to be anal - the lower screw was often not painted while the upper was painted exterior color.
My 65' is a 50/50 split. Exterior painted body color with Interior painted a slightly more gloss(semi) than than the halo trim. Hope this helps.
