According to the Noland Adams book, the '66, 350HP engine stamp suffix includes the letter "P" for power steering, whereas the 300HP doesn't. Is there any particular reason for this?

Re: '66 "HP" ENGINE SUFFIX
HP is only used when A/C was combined with P/S as the engine plant had to make some configuration changes that were not required for the 300 hp.Bill Clupper #618- Top

Re: '66 "HP" ENGINE SUFFIX
Guess the book was incorrect in this respect. So, then "HT" is the correct code for L79, manual transmission(no other options), with or without power steering? The reason I ask is I'm looking at '66 small blocks, and I wanted to know if there is a way to tell if the car was originally equipped with power steering.- Top
