    IGNITION SWITCH APPLICATION

I have a Delco Remy ignition switch box marked GM 1116673 686Y. The switch itself, however has a casting #697 on it, which someone crossed out with a marker and wrote 686. It looks just like the one on my '67. I believe a 686 is correct for '66 and/or '67. Assuming the # on the switch itself is correct, what is its' application?

    Rob,

It's a genuine 1968 only ignition switch. DO NOT try it in your 66-67 application unless you want to run and smoke test and inform the rest of us how it came out.

    Regards,

    JR

Thanks, I don't plan on installing it, but wanted to know its' application. I assume your information is based on the switch#, and that the box doesn't belong to it?
