Re: c-4 driveshaft lengths
Mike,
You realize, of course, that the likelyhood of finding an off-the-shelf drive shaft to fit, will be almost nil! Crack open your wallet and have Denny's Driveshaft make you a brand new one. I was going to have an original cut down for the 59, but found that it was just as cheap to have a brand new aluminum one made. These driveshaft guys just do not like to cut down aluminum shafts.
Did you finally find a D44 rear for that beast?

Re: c-4 driveshaft lengths
john:I contacted Denny's yesterday. as i recall, they wanted 370 for the alum. shaft with yolk. was at local dirt track supply house this am and their source wants 290 for the same shaft. local drag racer uses these shafts(his chev 11 is turning in the 7's and he hasn't broke one yet. believe the dirt track guys have them made in minnesota, Cloeman co, i bellieve. haven't found reasonably priced dana 44 or dana 60 yet. am gonna go with the dana 36 so i can get the project completed but will change to dana 44 or 60 later. thanks, mike- Top

Re: c-4 driveshaft lengths
Mike,
When you find the source, please let me know. That is quite a savings, and I would like to have their name in my vendor contact book. I have allways used either Denny's or Empire, and I allways thought that they were a little pricey.
My local driveshaft shop does nice work, but only does steel shafts.
