'64 Seat Track Handles - Repos Any Good?

How good are the repro handles listed in most of the major catalogs? I'm assuming they're repros since they don't say NOS. At $23 - $26 each, I don't think I can get mine replated for that. Besides, I don't really know that the ones I have are original. Any telltale signs to tell the difference?

    Hello Scott,

Do yourself a favor and pay to have your originals replated. I purchased a pair from Paragon this summer for my '64 and upon their arrival, there was a noticeable difference. First, the allen head set screw is a different size and is a fine thread, where the original is a course thread. I attempted to install one and could not get it to tighten up; in fact I stripped the treads. I don't think the material that they were cast from is as good of quality. Also the part numbers on the back side are not there on the reproductions. I now have one really nice, shiny paper weight. I sent the one that I did not attempt to install back for a refund.
