    C-1 Seat Track

Can anyone steer me to an article or other item that gives a step by step procedure for disassembling the seat tracks for a '58? I am especially interested in how the chrome release lever comes apart so I can send it out for rechroming. Also, if I just decide to have a speicalist do the work, what ballpark figure am I looking at? As always, Thanks in Advance!

    Re: C-1 Seat Track

There are two channels for each seat that each ride on rollers enclosed in a metal assembly with two ball bearings each. The channels have a stop that needs to be bent out of the way so the channels will pull apart. The amount of rust and corrosion will determine how difficult it will be to remove. There are eight roller assemblies that sell for about $30.00 apiece. I had purchased two or three and I was able to salvage all but the roller for the rest. I cut the rollers out of metal tube stock and grinded them to fit, saving $30.00 apiece.
I have some extra rollers if they will help. I believe the levers will come out with the removal of a clip and spring. I posted the correct direction for the assembly of the channels/rollers earlier this year(don't remember) but it becomes obvious when you get into it.
