Started rebuilding my window regulators this weekend. After reassembly the regulator works perfectly except for one problem. After cranking all the way against the spring, the handle unwinds it self. I thought I might of had the spring on incorrectly but it will only go on one way. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Paul

I have had a couple of regulators act this way also after rebuilding. The good news is that they will be fine after they have the weight of the window on them.
You can probably just just pinch down on the little tab adjacent to the pinion, and that will probably put enough drag on the rack to keep it from unwinding while not loaded.
