I called Double Lift today about ordering a lift. Wait time is about 5 to 7 weeks which is not a problem. My concern now is they no longer accept credit cards and shipping is no longer included. I can live with paying shipping as there are no free rides but the cash or check deposit up front concerns me. At least with a credit card there is some recourse in case their company falls on hard times. A previous thread indicated they may be having problems. I now am deciding whether to take a chance or go with a Stinger lift for about the same money. For those who own Double Park, is it worth the risk?

Re: Double Park Lifts- Again
Jim,
I have a DB Lift on order, this is week number 5. I spoke with Bill Lewis today, they are having trouble getting the cylinders. He promised me a ship date tomorrow. I was also concerned about the check routine however the credit card company's grab about 4% so I can't blame him for wanting a check. I have heard enough good things that I am holding out to get the lift from him.

Auto-Lifters
I ordered a Auto-lifters M80 last week. The wait time is the same 5-7 weeks. They take credit cards. They are also about $1000 less. They are not powder coated but I like the why they lock better then double park or stinger. The Backyard Buddy is the same design as Auto-Lifters but also about $1200 more. Mike- Top

Re: Double Park Lifts- Again
Have AutoLifer 7000FR I use for my C2. One thing I found when visting a friends garage was that the arms would not fit under the car and needed to be mocified. Make sure the distance between arms when extended out at desired angle will fit where you want them - otherwise you will not be happy.
Very pleased with my unit, however I wish the garage was bigger so I did not need to park one car under the lift. Or I could stop buying cars .. NO forget that!- Top

Re: Double Park Lifts- Again
I have two stinger lifts in my garage. I have had 2 years of stress free operation. Their Florida rep is Ron Smith. He is a real straight shooter, typically has lifts in stock, delivers it and installs it for a no hassle purchase.
I ordered a single post unit from another manuf. for another bay in my garage 1st of September. I would have ordered another Stinger, but preferred no post on the side my wife parks on. Anyhow, still waiting on the single post with little communication as to when it will be delivered.- Top

Re: Double Park Lifts- Again
Consider a "Revolution" brand lift. Made by Rotary, the largest manufacturer of commercial lifts. Revolution is their hobbyist drive on lift brand. Usually available locally from a dealer who sells and installs Rotary commercial lifts. Dealers for Rotary are EVERYWHERE! These dealers DELIVER and INSTALL lifts everyday. My time is worth more than my money in this case so "I" buy products that require delivery and assembly locally. A whole lot easier to complain to one person when/if there is a problem than a manufacturer, delivery company and installer.
I have NEVER had a problem with any Rotary product. I have NOT purchased a Revolution lift as I do not want or need a drive on lift. I have 2 post lifts. I have personally seen a Revolution lift and quality/design "looks" first class like all Rotary products.
All the brands listed in this thread and ALL the other threads seem to work well for their owners as each owner always recommends what he/she bought. Have yet to see one person on this board say what "they" bought was junque! that means they ALL must be good or those who made a bad decision are unwilling to share the experience of THEIR MISTAKE! Therefore, "I" would buy based upon price, installation and delivery. Price would be "my" last consideration.- Top
