Good evening to all of you. Tonight I was under my dash of my 72 and noticed for the first time that there is a bracket on the bottom of the column. This bracket is suspiciously similar in size to the wire bundle connector that comes out of the steering column. This is the flat, single row of wires that is about 12-15 wires that come out of the steering column for starting, turn signals, etc. If I take the wire connector apart, the longer piece will clip into the bracket. If I connect the two halves of the plastic connector, the wire bundle that goes up into the instrument cluster is too short by at least 1-1.5". There isn't enough slack to pull that wire bundle down. Have any of you had this problem? I can't see taking the driver's side of the dash and instrument cluster out just so I can see if the wiring harness is binding somewhere. At the worst, a wire bundle tie (NOS of course )can be used to pull this wire bundle up out of sight. Any hints on what to do? Gary 21316
