1959 firewall..too many holes?

I am cleaning up the engine bay of my '59 and I think there is 1 hole too many. Hole A in the pic is for the speedo cable, correct? What would hole B be for? Thanks again. Pat

The previous owner had the tach cable comming through hole B and he had the generator on the drivers side. I plan to move the gen to the pass side which I believe to be the way it came from the factory. The AIM shows the tach cable exiting the firewall on the Pass side way up in the corner and there is a hole there the proper size. The new firewall insulation I bought has the hole cut out for A, and it has a perforation or knockout for a hole at the B location.
I'm confused.

If I remember correctly I believe one is for the speedometer cable and the other is for the winshield washer hoses. Hope this helps.
