    oil cap vs a/c?

    Hello all,

I recently got back my car back from resto and was trying to add a bit of oil(was actually checking the fluids on my ol' 69 {11:1 compression } 350/350 hp) and noticed my restorer had the oil cap on my pasenger side valve cover VERY close to the a/c compressor. Is this normal for this? (any original a/c owners?) I cant even get the oil cap off the valve cover to add more oil as it hits a part of the a/c housing? I eventually had to dump oil into the PCV part of the valve cover.......................opinons please? this sounds like restoration hell..... arggggghhhhhh

The valve covers are installed backwards - the cover with the cap goes on the driver's side.

The inspector must have been napping when those valve covers slipped out the door.

It just makes me wonder when a "professional restorer" gets easy stuff like this backwards.

Or takes a layer of paint off the fender tightening a knockoff wheel. Don't even think about asking who did that!

Corvette restoration may be one trade where the best professionals were first educated as dedicated amateurs.

Well, I don't know, Dickie...It wasn't that guy that forgot to mask his glass and sprayed it with DP primer was it? (You shudda' never told me that one!) Actually, there is a difference in making a mistake unintentionally while distracted; e.g., while making sure a KO wheel is GUDANTIGT. Uh...Did it buff out OK?
