    Tool Availability ?

In the 67 Assembly Manual in the section addressing "4 Speed Rod Adjustments" it refers to a "Locating Gage (Gauge ?)". Where would someone purchase one of these or is it easily fabricated from flat stock? Thanks to all responces. Bill #20328

i made one out of flat stock as you suggested. best way to determine the tool's dimensions is to remove the shifter, place in vice, put shifter in neutral gates then make the tool. good luck, mike

Start with 1/8" flat stock, 41/64" wide by 3" long, bend to suit for access, and go from there

I was going to make a fancy one out of steel until I realized a paint stirrer was the right thickness and much easy to trim. That is a serious comment. I had the steel out and moved the paint stirrers out of the way to make work room when the light bulb lit.

In addition, I think most of the service manuals have one pictured as well as instructions on how to make it including dimensions.

I made one, but they are a MAJOR PITA to use with the body on the frame. I do as well adjusting linkage without using the special tool.
