When they say "original looking" with no body modifications would this refer to the wrong year hood and wheels?
I have a very original 64 coupe that was repainted many years ago. The color is correct and is lacquer.Best of all it still shines and looks good but...
When the car was painted they put a 67 BB hood and Rally wheels on it. The hood has a lighter blue stinger stripe. At least they didn't put 427 badging on it. The rallys are GM and correct ... for a 67. Under the hood the car is very original L-75. All the numbers match from the original carb. to the oil filter cannister. Not so good for the starter , Alternator and regulator. They all LOOK nice and are fresh rebuilt units but nobody paid any attention to the numbers so the original cores must have been donated to the local NAPA store.
Interior is original and very good. Carpets show a little wear from sliding your leg out but they always had mats and were vacuumed. Dash is excellent but there is some wear from the keys sliding back and forth. Seats are original too but the drivers side bolster seam let go so there is a 3" separation on the seat back. Door panels and everything behind the seats is excellent.
So until I find a good hood and go for a paint job what kind of reaction would I get if I showed up at a NCRS event? Would this fit for sportsman?
