    66 Wiper Motor

Wiper motor just quit. When I turn on the wiper switch, I get a click from the area in the motor where I assume the solonoid is. Wiggled the wiper arms a bit to see if they were stuck. Checked the brown plug that inserts into the body of the wiper motor and it is tight. There is a "male" prong at the bottom of the motor that is above what appears to be a 1/4 inch wide, flat strap or wire of some kind. The male prong does not have any type of plug nor do I see any wires not attached. Is there a ground wire that need to check?

The tab on the wiper motor is the ground lug and must be connected for operation. Try using a jumper wire from a ground point on the engine to the tab. This wire runs from this point to the heater ground tab and then to the block in the starter area of the engine. Check out your wiring diagram in your service manual to see how it is connected.

Check the '66 Chassis Service Manual....

for earlier Corvette ('63-65) there was a separate shop manual series (with addendums for the specific year) and the master/63 book has a nice troubleshooting section in it on WSW with things to check on-car as well as things to check off car. If memory serves, one of the checkout items was to make sure the WSW switch was FIRMLY attached to the dash because that served as a system ground point for motor turn-on/off....
