Thanks to everyone who shared their ideas. I really like the idea of using some original material for repair of my seat. I took a closer look and can see stitching inside the seam where the tear is. There is also a convenient seam at the top of the seat so I'm hopeful this one section can be removed and a donor panel fit in its place. Now I just need to find a good upholstery shop for restoring the seat cover.

Steve
You may be able to get a piece of NOS material THROUGH an upholstery shop SMS Fabrics(supplier) has lots of NOS/reprodution materials. The panel that is torn may also be sew in/pulled in just enough to repair it. The best thing to do is take the seat to a shop of your choice and tell them exactly what you want. If SMS has your color it will not be cheap. They charge around $100.00 per yard. Then the shop adds thier labor charge. Good Luck
