Why shorter C2 production calendar vs. other Chevs

Noticed that St.Louis ended production on 7 Aug, 21 July, 2 Aug, 29 July, and 11 July for 1963 through 1967 models, respectively. For 1965, I have the end-of-month serial #s for all Chev final assy. plants, and these show that production of passenger cars (Biscane, Belair, Impala), Chevelles, and Chevy II's continues to at least mid-August, and often into the third week.

Is it because Corvettes were "built-to-booked-order", whereas the other models were not ?
