Re: Need brake help, Can,t bleed fromt

Thanks everyone for all the suggestions. My calipers have o-rings with no springs. I was concerned that maybe the pistonds were too far back and blocking off the flow, so I usede a little air from the bleeder to push the pistons out. I then rebleed the MC on the front and then used the manual pupm and hold until I got fluid. It finally worked.
Now I found a leak from fitting on the front MC to the dist block. Tried to tighten but did not want to strip it. I do not wnat to take it apart again to check the flare so I will order a new line and when it cones in I will try again
    Again thanks everyone.

my advice when using steel lines in any brass

fittings is to pre tighten the line into a steel fitting of the same type first to form the flare. this a MUST if you are using stainless steel lines because the brass will deform before the steel line and you will not get a seal

Re: my advice when using steel lines in any brass

Clem, I wish I had known that trick when I put in stainless lines a few months ago. I tightened the fittings to "normal" levels and was surprised that several of them leaked. Several rounds of progressive tightening were required to stop the leaks, and by the end I was certain I was going to strip either the threads or the nut faces. Fortunately the leaks stopped before I stripped anything. Later I asked the supplier, Muskegon Brake, if this sort of problem was typical for stainless lines. They confirmed that it is a known problem, but I had not heard of this before.
