I was wondering if anyone else had a problem with their torque converter locking up on '80 through '81 models. I've taken it in to a couple of different transmission shops and the problem seems to be electrical. If anyone else has had any experience in this matter, please let me know what you did to fix it. What is the problem in more specific detail? No lockup at all? Lockup is temperature and RPM dependent, If it does it (whatever it is) on a regular basis, there is a fault tree in the Service manual that should pinpoint the problem, Essentially it either gets the signal and reacts properly or it get's a signal and doesn't react, or it get's no signal. By the way, '81 Pass car service manual should have the same fault tree.
