Mid Year Gas Pedals 1966

My 66 had a gas pedal that had vertical grooves all the way with horizontal grooves starting about 2/3 of the way up. This makes 12 (I think) boxes on the pedal. The JG said it should be vertical only, so when I had the chance I bought a repro pedal like that. Since then I have seen several 66's in pictures on "for sale" sites that have pedals like the one I took out.

Anyone know where these came from? Were they service replacements that were available before the correct ones were repro'd?

Mostly curious, as it's going to take more than a gas pedal before the 66 gets flight judged.

Rich, the pedal you describe is/was the pedal that the General service for the mid-years. I think that it was actually a truck pedal

check the upper margins of the inner and outer grooves cut in the rubber. if they are radius'd, they aren't configurred like the originals which are cut on a 90 degree where the vertical portion ends at the top of the pedal. originals are scarce as hen's teeth. mike
