    C1 glove box removal

These things never cease to amaze and frustrate me. I went to remove the center(between the seats) glove box today on my '56 and even though the screws are all there it appears as though the thing is adhered to the back wall that runs behind the seats. It also appears to have some sort of rough looking material at the base directly under the unit. This is a pretty original car and it looks like it was repainted in place. How the f----- does thing come out with breaking the flange that runs on both sides? Thanks.

Gary, Are you convinced you need to...

...remove it? It is held in place with bonding compound. The screws were only an assist to keep it there for a short period of cure time. At the moment, unless you need to replace it because of damage, I'd leave it exactly where it is. Best, Dennis

Dennis, that explains a lot. It ldoes seem to be bonded into place.....and as you said, it is. I will not be removing it and instead will work around it right where it is. Thanks a bunch Dennis.
