I am just getting started with stripping my 66 Coup and had noticed the paint had what look like the glass strand showing in the paint after I got down to the glass found that in fact it was the strand showing up in the paint the car was stripped and repainted 20 years ago. I also could see a line on the passenger side of the hood that looks like it is right over the structure and if the hood was metal it was bent there. should I just get a new hood are use epoxy primer and block the hell out of it.

It is common for the strands to show some, and the shadows of the undersupports are also normal. You can use gelcoat, or some other products, and block out the imperfections if you are not comfortable with them showing back up.
